I rescued a English Bulldog in 2005...I had just lost my Pug due to pancreititus, you may could have saved him I'm sure, but he died within 1 weeks time of being diagnosed..Each day that I would come home I would miss him so bad, so in 3 weeks I found out about Gator. I said that really could not get another dog, but then I found out he was going to be put to sleep..I immediately said that I would take him..I not only saved his life, but he saved mine. My daughter had just got married and I was recently divorced..He was so pitiful that if you raised your voice he would go hide in the corner..He has come a long way, but is now suffering from a medical condition. At first the vet told me it was a parasite infection, he gave him antibiotics, but they didn't help him. The vet also done several skin scrapes and still no answer, so he suggested to take him to a dermatologist, so I did..She said that it was thyroid condition and took blood and sent it to the Univ of Michigan. Well it came back fine..It took me several hours to get to the nearest derm. vet. So far the cost has been in the thousands and now that I have no job and not sure if I will be able to work again he still has the problem...Gator's skin turned black and his hair started falling out. He then would get these crusty sores and it has progressively gotton worse and now he is getting the digital cyst on his front paws between his toes. My vet put him on thyroid medicine called Thyrosyn and still no help..It started on his rt side and is now moving to the other side, and has a bad odor. Please help me I can't loose him, he is all I have..My house is in foreclosure and I don't have anymore money..He has had a rough life and so have I please help us...
