We are Canadian, and have given Orijen to both dogs and all five cats since the poisoned pet food scandal a few years ago (melamine from China, wasn't it?).

Thankfully, the Orijen we feed our pets is not irradiated. I have nothing but the highest praise for this company, and the food it produces. While I am not a scientist, let me state that it's most likely Australia's irradiation of the pet food that's causing the problem.

Orijen keeps our five rescued cats, and two rescued dogs, happy and healthy. My loyalty to that brand is not going to change because of the Australian government's bad practise.
