Nowhere in the Mars Petcare recall announcement did the company disclose the cause of the recall – putting pet owners at a concerning disadvantage. Without the cause disclosed, veterinarians don’t know pertinent information on how to treat a sick pet.

It was found that this dry cat food had high levels of certain fungal toxins – this can make your cat very sick. It can cause vomiting, GI issues, leading to pancreatitis.

While I did not see reports of cats being affected, I will always recommend knowing what you’re putting into your cat’s food bowl, as these issues seem to come up often.
