Good morning fellow readers.
I am now back from a camping vacation, and ready to help you
become an empowered pet owner.
I had a great break away on Vancouver Island. I was able to
hook up with my brother ( and webmaster for Veterinary Secrets)
on the trip.
We both came with our families, including our dogs ( the cats
stayed at home with house sitters)
My dog Lewis and his dog Kane had a great time playing, but
they had an even better time rolling in a dead seal by the
ocean.
What is it that gets a dog to roll in the smelliest things?
After several baths, the smell finally abated, but if any of
you have a home remedy for smelly dead sea creatures, I would
love to hear it.
The newsletter sent out on Friday generated a tonne of emails
about Michael Vick.
You all are overwhelming in support of having him receive the
maximum punishment possible. Some of you have some pretty
graphic descriptions of what you would like to happen to him.
This is expected as what he has done generates a HUGE emotional
reaction.
I would like to ……. Michael Vick. ( I can’t publish that)
As a follow up to the newsletter, I must also comment on the
current laws.
They are pathetic.
They still look at dogs and cats as mere possessions.
They are LARGELY unenforced.
In some instances the law enforcement officials are actually
involved in the crimes ( such as illegal dog fighting)- so
they are sure NOT enforcing the law.
YES things need to change.
