[Ep 19] Cat Food Myths, Cat Urinary Disease, Cat Facts!

By Dr. Andrew Jones

In this episode Dr Jones reveals many of the misconceptions about cat biology and nutrition that are based on feeding cats as small dogs. Cats are uniquely different, such as being obligate carnivores, having poor thirst triggers, lacking enzymes to digest carbohydrates. Dr Jones explains what FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease) is, with specific effective home remedies. Lastly he tells you about a number of interesting cat facts…such as ..’The first cat in space was a French cat named Felicette (a.k.a. “Astrocat”) In 1963, France blasted the cat into outer space. Electrodes implanted in her brains sent neurological signals back to Earth. She survived the trip.
