Happy Friday to You and Your Pets!

I for one am looking forward to the weekend. I have had
an VERY busy last month with MANY emergencies..from
Cougars to Toxins to a Bomb Injuries and even a Deer with
a broken leg.

The one thing about living in a small more remote community
is that as a Veterinarian you get LOTS of variety and it
is interesting.

This does tire you out, it does put a strain on your family
life, so  I am looking forward to some much needed R and R.

Today’s newsletter is my rant on Obnoxious Landlords who are
making it virtually IMPOSSIBLE to rent a suite if you happen to
be a Pet Owner.

My small town has FAR more Renters than Rental Accomodation..

Hence the Landlords..( and Slumlords) can make whatever demands
they want and NOT rent to people with pets.

My experience as a Renter was that even as a practicing Veterinarian
I had Landlords hang the phone up on me when I said that I
had a Pet.

In My experience, MOST Pet Owners are VERY RESPONSIBLE and make
GREAT tenants. They are responsible for more than just themselves.

A Landlord may have had ONE bad experience, then he/she tars
ALL Pet Guardians.

Is this Right?
Is this Legal?
What does this tell me?

That we as a Society still have a LONG way to go in recognizing
that Pets are members of our family- they are NOT just things.

IF a Landlord were to Kick out a Renter because they had Children,
do You think there might be some big Legal Action?

IF the Landlord does the same thing to  Pet Guardians, then what do
you think happens?

The Moral of Today’s Newsletter?

If you are a Landlord Give Pet Owners equal consideration.

ASK the Pet Owners for References.

Get them to Pay a Pet Damage Deposit.

As A Pet Guardian.

Be a Pet Activist…When it is appropiate, fight for the Rights of
Pet Owners..When I first moved to my small not friendly to Pet’s
Community, I organized an ‘Illegal’ march down our Main Street
( Baker Street). Out City Council at the time had chosen to not
ONLY ban Dogs in the downtown core, but also eliminated the one
area in town that we could walk dogs.

It was great to march through town with over 100 Dogs- the press
coverage was great and now we have a dedicated Dog walking area.

P.S. It has Been nearly 1 year since I realeased my Veterinary Secrets
Revealed Home Study Course. I am feeling like celebrating with something
Special..Stay Tuned for the upcoming Party!

P.P.S. I am getting Next month’s Interview for My Membership Site and
it had some Awesome Content on Supplements. If you are wanting to
have this CD sent to your door, then check out My Inner Circle.

It’s At

It’s Your Pet. Heal Them At Home!

Best Wishes,

Dr Andrew Jones, DVM
